The USAID-funded Center of Excellence for Energy (COE/E), led by Arizona State University(ASU), is proud to share that COE/E Project Director and ASU Professor Dr. Sayfe Kiaei and COE/E Technical Advisor and Ain Shams University Professor Dr. Mostafa I. Marei have been named in Stanford/Elsevier’s list of the top 2% most cited scientists in the world.

Dr. Kiaei and Dr. Marei have been acknowledged in the career-long research category, demonstrating an enduring commitment to advancing knowledge within their respective fields. Furthermore, Dr. Marei has been recognized in the single-year research category for 2023.

Dr. Kiaei has published more than 200 journal and conference papers and holds several patents. His research interests are in RF, analog and digital IC, transceiver design, and sensors. Dr. Marei’s research interests include power electronics, distributed and renewable generation, microgrids, power quality, electrical drives, and artificial intelligence applications in power systems. He has published more than 160 journal and conference papers.

The methodology employed by Stanford University in determining this ranking, based on data from leading scientific publisher Elsevier, is based on robust citation metrics, such as the h-index and a composite c-score. These metrics highlight the impact of citations over publication volume and consider various factors like co-authorship and author position across 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields.

This recognition is a testament to COE/E leadership members’ dedication to research and contributions to the global scientific community. The Center congratulates Dr. Kiaei and Dr. Marei on this well-deserved accolade.
