In the USAID COE’s endeavors to cooperate with the industrial partners to achieve high-quality applied research and magnify the possibility of training skilled graduates to meet the evolving needs of the industrial sector in Egypt, a meeting was held at the Center of Excellence of Energy during the Graduation Projects Day that was held on June 29, 2022, at the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University.

The meeting was attended by 15 representatives from more than 5 energy market leaders; Siemens, Emas, Elsewedy Transformers, and Hill International.

During his welcoming remarks Dr.Walid El- Khattam, COE’s Technical Advisor, posited the necessity of bridging the gap between the private sector and the academies. As the private sector is a critical partner in creating innovative and technological solutions, as well as providing resources to meet our energy challenges

Accordingly, one of the main goals of the Center is to exchange experience with the private sector to support the academic and research advancement of Egyptian students and faculty to meet the need of the Energy sector.  In addition, conduct cutting-edge energy research and build skills relevant to the energy sector’s current and anticipated needs.

Throughout the discussion, the private sector representatives expressed their willingness to cooperate with the center to assist the students in providing them with the necessary skills to fit into Energy’s job market.
