Faculty Sabbatical Program

The Center of Excellence for Energy is launching a one-term Faculty Sabbatical Program at Arizona State University for Egyptian faculty from Ain Shams University, Aswan University, and Mansoura University. Visiting faculty will collaborate with Arizona State University faculty to conduct research in state-of-the-art energy laboratories. This is an opportunity for visiting faculty members to learn, develop, or enhance understanding of skills that will improve the faculty’s professional and scholarly capacity. Visiting faculty are expected to actively engage in research and scholarship while at Arizona State University and may be asked to give a presentation or write a report on sabbatical outcomes as well as participate in Center of Excellence for Energy, Arizona State University, and/or Egyptian partner university events.

Proposal Writing and Grant Making Workshop:

Pre-Workshop Seminar (virtual): September 5, 2023: 3:30 – 5:00pm (Cairo time)

In-Person Workshop: September 17, 2023 at Ain Shams University

The Center of Excellence for Energy will host a Proposal Writing and Grant Making workshop to teach faculty and other senior researchers skills that are critical to designing successful research projects and writing grant proposals to fund them. Learn the process from start to finish, including preparation, budgeting, and proposal writing, as well as “customer discovery” to identify technical problems and test hypotheses and “storyboarding” to facilitate audience engagement. Through the in-person workshop and pre- and post-workshop virtual seminars, participants will implement the taught processes to advance the development of a proposal.
