COE/E Summer 2024 Internship Program

The USAID-funded Center of Excellence for Energy has placed around 250 engineering students from its Egyptian partner universities into meaningful internship experiences with reputable private and public organizations in Egypt’s energy sector.

The COE/E is continuing its student internship program in Summer 2024, providing a variety of enriching placement opportunities for 100 engineering students in energy-related fields. Students will apply theoretical knowledge learned in the classroom to real-world situations, build professional networks within the industry, and be exposed to various career paths and technical areas. These experiences and skills will be invaluable for students when seeking employment after graduation. The program begins in July and is open to engineering students from Ain Shams, Mansoura, and Aswan universities in their second, third, and fourth years of study.

Application, Selection, and Placement Process

Candidates should complete an application online using the link provided.

All applicants will be screened for eligibility. Students who meet the eligibility criteria will have their applications evaluated by a center panel on their academic merit and background. Each applicant can select their top three preferences from the available organizations. As space, internship location, and funding are limited, an applicant’s preferences are not guaranteed.

* Please note that while all applicants will undergo a screening process by the center for internship selection, certain placements may require additional screening by the host organization.

Next Steps and Further Information

Successful candidates will be notified of their acceptance and placement status by June 10, 2024, and the center will provide placement information following selection.
