Dr. Amr Shaat is an accomplished professional with a significant academic background, holding a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Queen’s University, Canada, where his research focused on the structural behavior of steel columns and steel-concrete composite girders retrofitted using CFRP. He also earned a Master of Science. from Ain Shams University, Egypt, and a Bachelor of Science with honors from the same institution. Dr. Shaat has a distinguished academic career, currently serving as a professor of steel structures and bridges at Ain Shams University and previously as an adjunct professor at the German University in Cairo. He has made substantial contributions to the field, with an extensive list of publications, including books on topics like sustainable infrastructure and smart cities. His affiliations range from Deputy Minister of Transport for the Egyptian Ministry of Transport to roles in various engineering committees and societies. Dr. Shaat has received several awards, including the Ahmed Moharam Award in Structural Engineering, and he maintains a high scholarly impact with a notable h-index based on citations in both Google Scholar and Scopus.
