Center of Excellence for Energy Supports 100 Students this Summer Through Its Internship Program
The Center of Excellence for Energy secured internship placements for senior undergraduates at Ain Shams, Mansoura, and Aswan universities during July and August 2024. One to two-week internships were arranged at nine host companies in various governorates across Egypt.
The COE/E Internship Program was established to enhance the professional development of EPU students and provide them with valuable industry experience—in addition to fostering strategic partnerships with industrial stakeholders and increasing their involvement with the center and its beneficiaries.
Placements were facilitated for 100 students out of the 590 who applied in May 2024. The first group of students began their internships in July 2024.
Training in specialized energy-related areas will develop students’ technical skills and expose them to real-world industry practices and operations. These technical training fields include:
- Solar energy
- Electrical power
- Mechanical power
- Renewable energy
- Green home appliance manufacturing
- Protection systems and electrical products
- Oil and gas production
- Energy and utility training
- Laboratory equipment training
